Deborah McCann BA (Hons)

Owner and Head Designer

What is the best part of your day?

Getting up early each morning and heading to my studio.  Working away on designs whether for bridal headpieces, bridal jewellery, veils, detachable belts or detachable sleeves for 'brides to be' is one of the best feelings.  And it is in my studio where all the 'big ideas' happen.

Deborah K Design was a dream for me to create and build and I feel so lucky to be doing what I love every single day, it is so rewarding.

What do you think brides love about the service at Deborah K Design?

A client told us recently that we made her feel like a princess form start to finish which was such a lovely compliment.  We always make sure that we put our 'brides to be' first in everything we do.  Throughout the design process, we make sure that we are in constant communication with our brides to ensure that we design for them their perfect bridal headpiece, their perfect veil or their perfect piece of bridal jewellery.

Keeping up with current trends and listening to what the bride wants is an important part of what we do at Deborah K Design. I love seeing ideas come to a reality and we are constantly adding new designs to our collection for extra touches for the special day.

Co Designer & Couturier

What does your job entail?

My job entails creating one off pieces for clients.  I mainly work on bridal veils, detachable bridal skirts & garters and have co designed a large collection for the special day. I also co design with Deborah and help create the stunning hairbands that we have. Hand sewing each stunning piece we create is so rewarding.

I also work with the detachable bridal sleeves and detachable bridal capes and am happy to provide advice for bespoke pieces. I have to admit that my passion is really working on the wedding  veils.  There are endless combinations when you design and co-ordinate the bridal veil alongside the dress, jewellery and headpiece and a lot of people don't realise that it takes a lot of energy and concentration to create the perfect veil and thus the perfect look for the bride's big day.  And to be a part of that in some small way gives me a real buzz each day.

What do you love most about your day?

Each bride wants something different and unique.  To be able to work on a bespoke piece for a bride every day is something which has always fascinated me and has helped me evolve as a couturier over the years.  Design is always a personal choice and no two designs are ever the same, which makes it more enjoyable as a couturiere to work on bespoke pieces.

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?

Hard-working, Fun & Self-Disciplined.

Website Coordinator/Internal Operations

What does your job entail?

Running the internal operations for Deborah K Design means that my job is varied and one day is never the same which I love! I am responsible for adding products to the website as the beautiful designs that Deborah makes are constantly growing to keep up with changes in style and demand. I also ensure that the internal organisation runs smoothly so Deborah can do what she loves; designing and hand crafting exquisite designs for her beautiful brides.

What do you love most about your day?

For me I love seeing all the beautiful designs that Deborah and Lynn make and showcasing them on the website. I get a real buzz knowing that I am responsible for what the brides see on our website. I feel its important to ensure that the ordering and consultation process runs smoothly both internally and externally so that it is the most exciting and enjoyable experience for our brides.
